Dr Abhijit Warade -

Dr Abhijit Gajanan Warade is a practicing Neurosurgeon at one of Mumbai’s oldest hospital’s PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, India attached both at their Mahim and Khar facilities. His specialization involves treatment of a variety of brain and spinal disorders. He is compassionate by nature and always believes in end to end care. He has a keen interest in research activities and is actively involved in clinical research, presentations and publications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Dr Warade, following his keen interest in Neurosurgery, initially worked for three years in the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu following which he joined and completed his Doctorate in Neurosurgery from PD Hinduja National Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mahim, Mumbai. During this period he worked very closely with the who’s who of neurosurgery in India and the world. His dissertation topic was one of the first studies to be done in India on aneurysms under the able guidance of Dr Basant K Misra. He secured the Doctorate degree in 2013. In pursuit of further advanced specialization Dr Warade, did a World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Endoscopic and skull base Clinical Fellowship at the Carlos Haya University hospital, Malaga, Spain with Professor Miguel Arraez. He then went on to secure a Clinical Fellowship at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Calgary, Canada in Pediatric and Epilepsy Neurosurgery.

“I am a brain tumor survivor. One day evening when I was driving home, I met with an accident, reason being an episode of sudden blackout and that instance changed my life forever. I then met a Neurologist and imaging (MRI) of my brain revealed a 8 cm x 7 cm massive cancerous growth in the right temporal region of my brain. Following a 10 hour prolonged surgery, I eventually recovered almost completely till date. However the cost incurred by me for this was so significant that it made me thinking what can be done for patients like me having tumors but cannot afford the treatment? I then associated myself with MadhuGajanan Foundation to raise funds by Corporate Social Responsibility/Individual social responsibility and Personal donations to save the brain as ‘GRAY matters*’ (* Grey matter is the area in the brain which helps the normal functioning of the brain) - Naresh Shroff (Operated March 2021)
